Who I am

I've been creative for as long as I can remember. Crochet, baking, drawing… When I came across something beautiful, my first thought was never to buy it. It was always: could I make that myself?
That's how painting started too. When I got my dog, I wanted to make a painting of him. One painting turned into five, and then the first commissions followed, for family and friends. To my own surprise, realistic painting turned out to suit me really well.
After a while I was ready for something else. I didn't want to make paintings that simply copy a photo, but art with a personal story. So I started experimenting with abstract shapes, combined with recognisable details.
That's the style I work in now: abstract worlds, built from colour and form, with a personal element worked into it. That's how something that means something to you finds a place in a world that exists nowhere else.
And honestly? Every new canvas still feels exciting to me. I always wonder for a moment: can I actually pull this off? But once I get going and feel it's coming together, there's no stopping me.

Materials and finish
The paintings are made with acrylics on 100% cotton canvas, stretched over wooden bars. The work is built up in multiple layers. Where it benefits the composition, structure paste is added for relief in the paint. The sides are painted too, so the work can be hung without a frame. Every painting is signed, and the back carries the title of the work and the date it was finished.
